2010 Florida International Business Summit at the University of North Florida
The Florida International Business Summit (FIBS) took place on March 2, 2010 in Jacksonville, Florida, at the University of North Florida. More than 100 business executives, academics, and students attended the event, which was co-sponsored by:

- Coggin College of Business at the University of North Florida,
- Florida network for Global Studies,
- Jacksonville Port Authority,
- University of Florida Center for Internatinoal Business Education and Research (CIBER),
- University of Florida International Center, and
- U.S. Department of Education

Collaborating organizations included:
- Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce,
- Enterprise Florida, Inc.,
- Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida,
- U.S. Department of Commerce - Commercial Service - Jacksonville,
- SunTrust Bank,
- World Affairs Council of Jacksonville,
- Jacksonville Cornerstone Regional Development Partnership, and
- Kenyon Energy

With the theme of "Opportunities in a Transformed Global Economy," the summit provided a forum for key players from Florida's ports, economic development and transportation agencies, private industry and academia to discuss the impact of clean technologies, existing manufacturing, and professional services in the fields of biomedical, engineering, and logistics.

In addition, participants had an opportunity to learn about new markets for Florida and the resources available to them to do business in Asia, Latin America, and Africa, which are considered non-traditional markets.

Jacksonville to Host the 2010 Florida International Business Summit on March 2
GAINESVILLE -- The 2010 International Business Summi's annual conference, titled "Opoortunities in a Transformed Global Economy," will be held in Jacksonville on March 2, 2010 at the University of North Florida's University Center. Dr. Alek Nowak from Warsaw University and John Lafond from Deutsche Bank are among those scheduled to speak.

The summit, sponsored by the University of North Florida, University of Florida, Florida Network for Global Studies, Jacksonville Port Authority, U.S. Department of Education and others will focus on clean technologies and existing manufacturing, professional services in the fields of biomedical, engineering and logistics, as well as new markets focused in Asia, Latin America, North and South Africa.

With the theme of "Opportunities in a Transformed Global Economy," this summit's purpose is to provide a forum for key players from Florida's ports, economic development and transportation agencies, private industry, and academia to discuss new opportunities in international trade and how key players are setting trends doing business with non-traditional markets.

Confirmed speakers include Donna Cunninghame (former executive of Windera Power Systems), Michael Turwitt (CENERGY), Matthew Kenyon (Kenyon Energy), Nancy Skaran (May Clinic), Kennon Holmes (Stellar Group), Terry Harber (CEVA), Kam Shah (U.S. Department of Commerce), Tongila Manly (Enterprise Florida), Terry McCoy (University of Florida), and Dave Woodward (Florida-China Association).
